Mike Neuenkirchen, Executive Director

As the Executive Director of the Streator Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mike is responsible for oversight of all Chamber operations, including: economic development, public relations, marketing, budgeting, events planning, legislative outreach, and personnel management.

Mr. Neuenkirchen has a proven track record in organizational management. For two years, he was on staff at the Greater Aurora Chamber of Commerce as Director of Communications and Public Relations. In this role he oversaw Chamber communications, marketing strategies, and technology issues. Neuenkirchen also was responsible for organizing events, monitoring legislative concerns, and new member development, among other duties.

Prior to his staff position at the Aurora Chamber, Neuenkirchen was employed with Jewel Food Stores in a number of supervisory positions throughout Kane and Dupage counties, most recently as Co-Manager.

Neuenkirchen has served on the Board of Directors of Aurora Downtown, Bridging the Gap, Inc, Aurora Historical Society and Streator YMCA. In addition, he has also served on the PACE Suburban Bus Service Community Advisory Council, and has been a member of the Aurora Noon Kiwanis Club, Streator Kiwanis Club, Streator Rotary Club, and Aurora Community Church.

Sue Yanek, Administrative Assistant

Sue has been employed with the Chamber for nearly 20 years. She is generally first point of contact for inquires. Sue also is responsible for billing, meeting reminders, and all record keeping for the organization. Sue and her family have been life long Streator residents.
